Why All the Violence?

As 2012 draws to a close, I, like the rest of the world, have been shocked by the increasing number of mass shootings in the United States. It is terrifying how violent people can be, and what human beings can do. The human mind is so complicated, and it’s impossible to understand how someone could commit so many evils.

I have to wonder what is going on in our world and society that makes it appear that people are steadily becoming more violent than they were in the past. What is wrong with our society? Is it the media, parenting, education, genetics?

What are your opinions?

  1. There’s a lot of pressure -whether it’s financial or social. Weapons are too easy to obtain, and peoples’ fuses are far shorter. I think a lot of the media does (to a certain extent) expose that violence is an option AND it is common, I think people then justify it. The point is, it’s sad. We need to remember the value of a human life.
